PROJECT MANAGER:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager manages project teams and undertakes project development work. In addition, the Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that his or her personal work in connection with client engagements is:
• of high quality content (i.e., deliverables prepared are consistent with the standards specified in company’s implementation methodology);
• in accordance with the approved work program for the engagement;
• planned using the implementation methodology and a proprietary project planning tool and properly monitored ;
• completed within the allotted time and hours budgeted; and
• documented in accordance with company’s standards
Manage the Planning and Setting-Up of Assigned Projects
• contribute to the development of the Project Quality Plan for new projects in line with laid down procedures;
• plan project re-sourcing requirements and inform Project Director/PSO Manager of these requirements as input to the re-sourcing process;
• contribute to the development of the Project Profitability Model by the PSO Manager as required
Manage Assigned Projects Ensuring That Budget, Timescale and Quality Standards Are Met
• in liaison with the PSO Manager, plan and manage project organization and re-sourcing over project life cycle ensuring appropriate level of resources in terms of numbers, skills, etc., to meet project targets;
• monitor project progress against defined project milestones and Project Quality Plan, and report as required to PSO Manager;
• escalate project problems to PSO Manager when appropriate;
• liaise with PSO Manager in managing customer relationship during project life cycle, ensuring optimum customer satisfaction within framework of project business targets;
• ensure that project enhancements/extensions are costed and agreed with PSO Manager;
• assist the PSO Manager with financial monitoring of project and contribute to invoicing process/cash collection, etc., when required
Manage Project Teams
• provide on-the-job training and coaching for team members on project-related areas, and inform Line Managers of any individual general training requirements;
• deal with problems of team members, escalating disciplinary or other serious situations to appropriate Managers;
• optimize morale and motivation of team members;
• ensure effective delegation of work and responsibilities within the team to optimize job satisfaction
• ensure effective communications within the team
REQUIREMENTS
• A first degree is desirable in Financial, Economical or Management;
• A minimum of ten years experience in project management or business management, actual project management experience needs to be demonstrated.
• Strong function or industry experience is also required.
• Business re-engineering experience would be an advantage.
• Other combinations may require more total years of experience.
• A solid understanding of application requirements should be demonstrable from previous work experience.
• Good written and oral communication skills for self expression should be exhibited
• Ability to work in teams as well as individually is required |
